I usually right-click on a protocol tree item any time I need to change
a protocol preference. It's a lot easier than going through the protocol
preference tree.

Some applications provide a search box in their preference windows which
lets you find preference using a free-form text search. I've added
something similar to the "Advanced" preference pane in the Qt port but
I'm thinking of moving it to the main preference window.
