If you mean K12 binary files, they don't have DLT values; are you 
referring to text files being converted to libpcap files, with a user 
DLT value?

Edit->Preferences->User DLT A (through D)


Choose a DLT value and the protocol of the payload.  (Though the payload 
protocol must be registered by name--e.g., with 'register_dissector()'.)

(Does this mean that I actually knew something about Ethereal that Guy 
didn't?  Woah...  ;-) )
