As per my mail, I'd already done the former.

I added some missing files to cleanbld.bat, but I'm not sure there's any reason why it should remove a few generated files rather than just doing a distclean.

Yes, while looking at it, I was asking me the same question :-)

Basically what's the difference between cleanbld.bat and nmake -f Makefile.nmake distclean?

If there's no reason against (which I don't see), I'd vote to remove the cleanbld.bat completely.
