I tried to install Ethereal on my Win98SE, but both WinPcap 3.0 and
WinPcap 3.1 beta 4 crash my system (freeze). I reported this on the
WinPcap list only to learn "We don't support Windows 95/98/ME any more".

Well, Microsoft Research is a major sponsor, maybe the most important one ...

Is it possible to use an older version of WinPcap to get Ethereal running?
If yes, which modules will I need?
If no, is there any other method to run Etherreal on Win98SE?

But if WinPcap is an unconditional prerequisit to Ethereal, I would
propose to reflect the situation in the doc.
