Still the same problem (freeze) with WinPcap 3.1 beta 4
I downloaded windump to the desktop and entered
windump -D
on the run menue and got the msg
The WINDUMP.EXE file is linked to missing export
WPCAP.DLL:pcap_dump_flush
I searched for wpcap.dll and found it in
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
with the following properties:
size: 204KB (208.896 bytes), 208.896 bytes used

I don't think that's the right wpcap.dll for WinPcap 3.1 beta 4.
Try uninstalling WinPcap, and then make sure there aren't any
"wpcap.dll" or "packet.dll" files in c:\Windows\System (if there are,
remove them). There's probably also a .vxd file for the WinPcap driver,
but I don't know where it is.
Then try re-installing WinPcap 3.1 beta 4.
Just one other idea: could it be the screen? I have a
Samsung Samtron 40B on S3Inc. ViRGE/DX/GX
but running with
High Color (16 bit)
640 by 480 pixels
which I cannot change for unknown reasons ...
How can I exclude this possibility for sure?
I don't know how it can be excluded for sure, but it's unlikely that a
screen problem would only manifest itself when doing a capture.
