Just a request here: I've noticed that from time to time people post
archive files (both, zip and tar) to this list. This significantly
increases the amount of work I need to do in order to take a look at
them as my mailclient doesn't show them as inline (it's a collection
of files, so the maximum it does is to show me the table of contents).

So please do not send patches as archives (I don't mind about compression,
that doesn't require me to save the files in order to view them), send
several files instead if possible.
