Yeah, but as you've written in your next mail, the about dialog could have three tabs in future:
"About" / "Authors" / "License"
Unless this is completely implemented, I would tend to currently leave it, as it is...

Another thing: The license text has at the end a section with the title:
"How to Apply These Terms to Your New Programs"

Should this be removed from the file, as this is a small introduction, how to apply this text to new programs (which is already done)?

To quote the COPYING document:

Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute verbatim copies
of this license document, but changing it is not allowed.

I'd consider removing the section at the end to be "changing it" (and I
suspect the FSF would consider it so as well - they want to promote the
use of the GPL, and that's probably one of the reason that section is
there).
