Konsole (the KDE "terminal window" program)'s "About Konsole" dialog
box, popped up when "About Konsole" is selected from the Help menu, is a
tabbed window, with tabs "About" (which says

X terminal for use with KDE.

	(c) 1997-2002; Lars Doelle

), Authors (giving Lars as "Author", with his e-mail address, and
listing Waldo Bastian as "Maintainer", with his e-mail address), "Thanks
to" (giving a list of contributors, with e-mail addresses and short
descriptions of what they've done), and "License agreement", giving the
GPL.

KGhostView (KDE PostScript/PDF viewer) and Konqueror (Web browser/file
manager) are similar, although Konqueror appears to merge "Authors" and
"Thanks to".

I'll have to look at what GNOME does; the GNOME HIG says that "About"
under "Help"

Opens the About dialog for the application. Use the standard
dialog provided by the GNOME libraries, which contains the name
and version number of the application, a short description of
the application's functionality, author contact details,
copyright message and a pointer to the licence under which the
	application is made available.

but I don't know whether it gives that all in one big window or in a
tabbed window (I suspect there's a standard KDE "About" dialog, with
multiple tabs, given the similarity of the three "About" windows in the
three KDE applications).
