I was hoping some else would jump on this since I'm not familiar with
this part of the code, but here goes -

Do you have a filter set? The capture_dlg.c file mentions that Red Hat 6.2
and later don't bind the AF_PACKET socket without a filter (look around
line 450).  As an experiment run the capture with and without a filter.
Of course you must have "Update list of packets..." enable for this test.

I will have access to a Red Hat 7.0 system next week (2/5) if you need more
help.
