Hi,

does anyone know if g_hash_table_insert actually requires the keys
structure (memory area) to be dynamically allocated off the heap?  I would
have thought that after the insert/lookup, the storage for the keys would
no longer be needed??

Or does simply keep a pointer to the key structure around so it does not
have to deal at all with the clients keys?
