Thanks for your response. In preparing a small capture I discovered that my dissecting problems only occurred I conversations through my 2003 machines, not a setting problem in Wireshark. I found that there were unrecognized(~1000k) packets where there should have been SIP(~500k) packets.

 So I looked at the interfaces and found that turning off the “Adaptive Technology” makes it work.
