Hi,

I have a query regarding installation of Wire Shark on RedHat Linux . I guess it comes by default with the CDs but is there any possibility to get the rpm for wireshark from any website and later install on the Linux system. Can you please help me with the website details from where I can download the same( Any dependencies as such)?

I tried with downloading from the following -:

*ftp.centos.org/5.1/updates/i386/RPMS/wireshark-0.99.7-1.el5.i386.rpm <http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/6028536/com/wireshark-0.99.7-1.el5.i386.rpm.html>*

But it looks like it is looking for a lot of dependency.

Wireshark depends on a lot of libraries. Are you using Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.1? The above URL is CentOS' version of Wireshark for RHEL 5.1 . If you're using a different RHEL then you'd should look in a different directory on CentOS.

I haven’t yet tried with the update manger available with the Red Hat Linux System.

That would be the easiest way. If it's RHEL just do "up2date wireshark-gnome"; if it's Fedora Core do "yum install wireshark-gnome".

Anyway I'm not aware of another good location to get Wireshark RPMs for RHEL then CentOS or directly from Redhat (via up2date).
