I know that Wireshark University has a fantastic DVD training program and the beginner course is great.

Well, im sorry for trying to understand this program a little better... To be perfectly honest it is for a course im doing, not quite Intro to networking. One of the lab sheets runs through how to capture the information and asks questions about the trace, but I was having difficulty....

Sorry if the mailing list isnt intended for this sort of thing, but forgive me for thinking their might of been some help here, since I couldn't find any kinda forum elsewhere !

anyone who does want to help, id still appreciate it, or even point me in the direction of somewhere that can !

Regards,

James

Nice picture of our planet.

Is this for a school assignment or something? The Wireshark mailing
list is not your TA or your homework help list.  Your questions reek
of an introductory networking course.

Nobody is going to answer these when presented like that.

This mailing list is for helping solve real issues that real people
have with packet capture, and to nail down issues to be passed to the
developers.  Nobody wants to answer trivial questions like "Identify
the main events"

Hi everyone, im kinda a newby to using wireshark, so the program seems
a little daunting to me. Im hoping to get some assistance analysing a
trace file i made of a web request, pulling some information out of
it.The trace file can be found at
http://www.filedropper.com/nasaimagecapture

The information im trying to pull out is, im sure relatively simple...

1. The evolution of the congestion window
2. Any packet loss which occurs within the trace, and any behaviour of
the sender
3. Identify the main events occurring within the time line of the
capture, such as initiation of connection, closure, transfer, etc)

A thorough explanation of how any answers were reached would be much
appreciated from anyone helpful enough to try and assist with this...

Regards,

James
