I might I know what's the problem you have.
Check if for the given page (directory) name resolution of client IP
adddresses is enabled and the IP address you use to connect the
resolver does not have a PTR record (what gives you a name for an IP
address).
If that's the case when you connect a second time to that page within
300s (5 min) from the first time it returned it should work right
away.
I'm giving you this answer because for some reason it seems you assume
this is caused by a networking problem and not a simple bug in a
javascript program in you page, from your description the former
appears to be the most probable cause.
