Wireshark-users: [Wireshark-users] Using Wireshark to capture signal strength and data rate for 8

Hello all,

I am currently evaluating the use of Wireshark to capture 802.11/wlan
packets and I have some questions.

1) Can wireshark display information like the data rate, signal and
noise level on each captured 802.11 packet? [This information is not
part of the basic 802.11 Frame Format but is provided by some wlan
cards as 'extra' header info for each packet. This info can, for
example, be displayed in AiroPeek.]

2) If the answer to 1) is yes, which wireless driver and OS must I use
to be able to capture this information from wireless cards?

I have looked at the wiki info on capturing Wlan packets
(http://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup/WLAN). While it does provide
info on various drivers and OSes that can be used to capture wlan
data, it does not explicitly say which combination of driver/OS will
capture packets that contain the above information that I am looking
for.

Regards,
Kam-Yung
