I am removing the line causing the error. Any issue in the main engine by removing that? I just want it for local usage. I don't think that problems with the version will cause big impact right? :-)

No. It's a bug in the build, thanks for reporting, although why 2.4.2 doesn't detect a working "ln -s" on your system is hard to guess.

I would like to use a "Stable release" if possible

that is why I don't want 2.5.0.
