Thanks for the suggestion.  How do I break on abort()?  The assert seems to disappear into glib and abort is part of stdlib.

You could always put a breakpoint on abort(). There is surely some way to configure VS2013 to catch it, but this might be the wrong place to ask about that.

Even though I can recreate the problem in a debug build under VS 2013 it doesn’t catch the exception.  I just see the above text flash by in the output command box.  How can I cause execution to break when it throws the exception?
