Wireshark-dev: Re: [Wireshark-dev] GUI Change for Wireshark Remote Interfaces

I've changed the title to something that helps me recognize it, but I can change it to something else.

The show column is a duplicate of the list of interfaces in the first tab. The basic idea would be to manage all general issues of the interfaces (hide/show, comments, ...) in the first tab, use the second to add pipes and the third to remote interfaces.

But on a more general note, as you cannot store the remote interfaces, why should you want to hide them? They are only valid in the current session anyway?

regards
Roland

Hi

I am currently rewriting the ManageInterfacesDialog, and so far I am nearly done. The last thing open are the Remote Capture Interfaces.

But to do this the right way, I am also going to get rid of the two popup dialogs and change the layout of the tab a little bit. So I wanted to get some feedback what you guys think or need for this. Please see the two attached links for a mockup of what the new dialog will look like.

Just keep in mind, that although those are Mac-themed screens, the remote capture interfaces will still be only available on Windows (due to WinPCAP pcap_open).

Should the tab title be "RPCap Remote interfaces" ?

The current dialog has a "Show" column, I'm assuming that allows users to show\hide an interface, that doesn't seem to be an option on the new dialogs.
