When thinking about the GUI, we thought about (at least some) of your ideas.
I'm open to reconsider the decisions...

The reason not to do this was to limit the width of the column. Some interfaces have
lots of addresses... And there where users who want base the selection on the
addresses and not on the name...

We wanted to show a summary of the settings. Maybe the columns could be made
configurable, such you can defined, which one you want to see.

Is this described in the human interface guidelines for GTK?

Same question...

You might want to try a developer build once in a while.... The GUI was actually refined
based on feedback we got. And it is much better now than it was when committed first.
