Sometimes, the connection is painfully slow, where I'm waiting more than a minute for the main page to even open. I don't think this intermittent lag is related to my connection because I've experienced it from home and from work.

The hostname ask.wireshark.org has had a AAAA record a while longer (I think even from the beginning when it was set up). If your browser favors IPv6 over IPv4 (which most browsers do by default AFAIK), they will try to get to a site over IPv6 before trying IPv4. Which in turn means that if you have IPv6 enabled, but don't have IPv6 access to the Internet (either native or tunneled over IPv4), then you will see these delays.

[You might want to use Wireshark to look at this problem ;-)]

Disabling the IPv6 protocol on your PC if you don't have IPv6 access to the Internet might speed up things again!

Cheers,
