What version of Wireshark is your development based on? When I start capturing using Wireshark 1.2.6, a temporary file is created whose name is prefixed with "wiresharkXXXX", not "etherXXXX".

I think so too. Because I have installed version 1.3.4 about wireshark from the page http://www.wireshark.org/download/src/all-versions/.
And it can run successfully. But my version still can't opened for some unknown reason.

Looks like a capturing related problem to me. Do you have sufficient privileges to capture? Is Winpcap installed?
