I could resolve it by using 
--libdir=/usr/lib64 and making %prefix/lib/* as %prefix/lib64/* in 
wireshark.spec.in file

I have successfully able to compile 
Wireshark-1.0.5 on SUSE 10.2 x86_64 machine, but got following error while 
trying to build an rpm.
 
+ 
/usr/lib/rpm/brp-lib64-linux
sf@xxxxxxx: if you find problems 
with this script, drop me a note
/tmp/wireshark-1.0.5-root/usr/lib/libwireshark.so:     
file format elf64-x86-64
/tmp/wireshark-1.0.5-root/usr/lib/libwireshark.so: 
should be in */lib64
error: Bad exit status from 
/var/tmp/rpm-tmp.96424 (%install)
 
RPM build errors:
    Bad 
exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.96424 (%install)
 
Could anyone help me to get out of 
this error?
