You're right. Debian applies a patch for that, it's
15_sensitive_open.dpatch

Sorry if this is a retransmission, but it seems as if my previous mail
got lost along the way (at least, I did not receive it via the list).
I noticed the following behaviour:
In Wireshark SVN r28292, the 'Open' button in the 'Open Capture File'
dialog seems to be disabled (insensitive) by default. The
sensitivity is
updated each time the selection changes (i.e. once a valid trace file
has been clicked on, the 'Open' button becomes sensitive).
But if the filename is entered via the 'Location' bar at the top of
the
dialog, no 'selection-changed' signal is generated. Consequently, the
'Open' button remains insensitive and the file cannot be opened.
In my opinion, this renders the 'Location' bar effectively unusable. I
would have liked to provide a patch for this, but the only solution I
was able to come up with was to disable the toggling of sensitivity
altogether. Maybe someone else has a more elegant solution to this.
The operating system I am using is Ubuntu 8.10.
Best regards,
Tobias
