I'm trying to copy the change ID from

    https://code.wireshark.org/review/#/c/13828/

but all attempts to do so do not copy the actual change ID string - instead,
Gerrit "helpfully" gives me the URL for the change.

I do not want the URL for the change. I want the change ID string.

This happens if I copy from the box containing the commit message or if I copy
from the Change-Id item in the list below that box.

If I try to copy the bug ID from the change message, to my minimal surprise I
get the URL for the change.

The more I work with "helpful" Web pages, the more eager I would be to take the
opportunity to go back in time and prevent the creation of _javascript_ if it
were offered to me. I don't want "smart" Web pages that are so "smart" that
they think I should want what they want rather than what I want, I want "dumb"
Web pages that work like everything else in the GUI.

Fortunately, even though it seizes Command+C, it doesn't seize the Edit -> Copy
menu item, so I have a workaround.
