It appears that the optional AndroidDump extcap utility, installable in Git
builds of Wireshark is incorrectly built for distribution with the Win64
installation packages as a 32-bit executable, meaning that runtime dynamic
linking against libwiretap fails (firstly since no 64-bit version of
wiretap-1.99.8-492-g3f0f49d.dll is discovered in the extcap directory, and
secondly, since androiddump.exe can't shim/trampoline calls to functions in the
64-bit version, if copied from the parent directly, for obvious
ABI-compatibility reasons).
Launching androiddump.exe from a fresh installation of Wireshark, under Windows
8.1 results in: "The program can't start because
wiretap-1.99.8-492-g3f0f49d.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling
the program to fix this problem".
Copying over wiretap-1.99.8-492-g3f0f49d.dll, and relaunching androiddump.exe
results in "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK
to close the application".
