Well, it's been almost 5 years since this bug was opened and there doesn't
appear to be any effort/made nor any real desire to move from c-ares to
libunbound.

Judging by the release notes with newer versions of c-ares, it would appear
that IPv6 support is now available in c-ares, thus obviating the apparent need
for switching to another resolver. Closing as wontfix.
