version 1.4.0, with libz 1.2.7.
       Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2540M CPU @ 2.60GHz

Built using gcc 4.8.1 20130603 (Red Hat 4.8.1-1).

Each mask is supposed to mask off seven contiguous bits and then shift them
into place, but one of the masks was faulty (0x3F10 instead of 0x3F80).
