Leaving this open in case we can figure out how to make this work on Windows
XP.  If that's not fixable, we may just close it and say it can't be done on
XP, or use some mechanism other than a console window (I think the console
window will stay around even if Wireshark crashes, which is a Good Think if
you're looking at the messages to try to debug a Wireshark crash; it'd be nice
if a new mechanism also left the log window around, but maybe it'd also be nice
if Windows did things the way OS X did and, by default, send stdout and stderr
for *all* processes without a console to some process that logs their messages
to some log facility).
