By default, Wireshark hides the Filter Toolbar in the lower left-hand corner of
the window, requiring me to open a menu and launch a new window just to enter a
filter.  

If I go to Edit->Preferences->User Interface->Layout and set "Filter toolbar
placement" to "Below the main toolbar", then the Filter Toolbar is displayed in
its proper position.

However, as soon as I close and re-open Wireshark, the Filter Toolbar is hidden
in the statusbar again, and I have to go back into my Preferences to fix it
every time.
