I suppose that depends in part on how long the 1.2 branch is to be around, how
many users are likely to keep using it, how well the team wants to or is able
to support it, how hard it is to fix, and other factors.

For me, it's very annoying presently because I'm still on the 1.2 branch;
however, I do plan on abandoning 1.2 when 1.4 is released, so once that
happens, this will become less important to me.  I can't speak for the rest of
the community though.
