Given that a number of USB devices don't actually identify the payloads that
they supply over the bus, and a number of devices that do, don't have the
payload passed to a dissector (except maybe for USB Mass Storage Class
devices), it may be useful to have a generic dissector that lets people choose
what the payload should be dissected as.
This may be useful, for people working with devices that supply PPP frames
(e.g. USB HSDPA modems or mobile phones), devices that supply Ethernet or ATM
frames (e.g. USB ADSL modems or USB Ethernet adaptors), devices that supply
IrDA frames, or devices that supply Bluetooth HCI H4 or H1 frames.
This may also open the door to supporting new protocols over USB, such as
Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP)/Media Transfer Protocol (MTP, not to be
confused with MTP2 or MTP3 as used by the SS7 world), protocols used by USB
serial or parallel port adaptors, or dissecting MPEG-2 Transport Streams
provided by ATSC or DVB adaptors.
