After I managed to fall back to cygwin flex v2.5.4a-3 on my Windows system, I
was then able to build Wireshark w/o problem after a maintainer-clean.
The moral of the story: don't upgrade cygwin flex to anything newer than
v2.5.4a-3 until this bug has been resolved.
For those newly setting up a Windows cygwin environment to build Wireshark:
Unfortunately flex v2.5.4a-3 appears to be no longer available on the standard
cygwin mirrors; Until this bug is resolved errors will occur when trying to do
a clean Wireshark build using the current cygwin version of flex (v2.5.35-1).
Given the above, I've changed the priority to High.
I hope that the fix isn't too difficult.
