Indeed, this stopped working when the multicast MAC address range was added to
the MAC name resolution list. The address comparison was based on the resolved
numeric representation of the addresses, which is no longer true. 
Changed to unresolved numeric representation of the address, to break
dependency of MAC name resolution. Committed revision 24837.
