This touches on packet loss concealment. Depending on the timestamps available
in the received RTP packets the audio stream can be recreated. This includes
filling the timespan without RTP payloads with silence samples, according to
the codec of the stream, or Comfort Noise as specified by CN packets.
I would put this in as an enhancement request.
