This was recently fixed when Ulf made tshark use dumpcap:

so the capture_loop stuff should now be the same between tshark and Wireshark.

Here's the result:

# ./tshark -i eth0 -b filesize:1024 -b duration:2 -a files:3 -w /tmp/x

# ls -l /tmp/x*
