The additional loops running to 20 are single line hex display. 20 was chosen
just as a practical limit to the the line length. The preferences is particular
to the display of one type of data that comes in 512 byte packets and it
desirable to display the entire packet.

I have converted the match_strval() to val_to_str() and will submitt a new
diff.
