Without having some more details of a suspected memory leak, this discussion is
almost useless for the reasons mentioned at
http://wiki.ethereal.com/KnownBugs/OutOfMemory.

If you need a tool for long term capturing use dumpcap instead, which won't
have any big memory consumption (hopefully).
