Ethereal-users: Re: [Ethereal-users] To decode binary (ASN.1) encoding megaco message
It is H248. I've attached an example with this email. However there was no
calls running while the messages were captured. The message was either for
audit or registration.
This is VoATM call and the messaging was captured at the router thru port
mirroring. So, I can't capture RTP packets. BTW, do you know of a cheap
solution to intercept ATM interface with ethereal?
And there is another question I always want to ask: does ethereal megaco
support 3GPP and Q1950 packages? The messaging I normally deal with is
captured from wireless R4 calls.
Thanks a lot for the help!

The name for binary encoded megaco is H.248 and it's supported (it
even keeps track of contexts and terminations). But there is no
binding to UDP (and it has no knowlege of RTP terminations), if you
send in a capture file with some GCP/UDP I might add it in short time.
If you send in the signalling for an entire call and few packets of
media (RTP) I might be able to add the handling of RTP terminations as
well.
