You may update your Ethereal, 0.10.7 is rather old.


In other words, I don't see entries for any requests originating from the
PC.  I am not using any filter options.


Don't know the exact reason, some things you could try:
Updating your WinPcap driver may help here. Ethereal gets the packet data from Winpcap, so if WinPcap doesn't provide them... 

It might be a problem with your network card driver.

You may also try to switch on or off Promiscuous mode whichever does better.
