You can chose this under the Preferences/Protocol/M3UA. All these version have different message formats. So if you have a trace, you must chose the correct version. If you don't you'll see unknown tags and possible Malformed Packet errors. "The packet capturing driver" is part of WinPcap, and if that was installed correctly, the driver should be there (I think it's called "npf.sys"). You should ask the WinPcap developers about this.
