Hi, mi name is Nicolas, i'm from Argentina and i have just downloaded the
program Ethereal five days ago.
I've to use this program for the university, i dont have a lan with switches
or hubs in my home, i only use the program to study the different frames of
the different protocols supported by the program.
I use the OS Windows 98 (se).
The problem i have is that when i downloaded the program i started to use it
without problems (i installed in mi pc the Winpcap_3_1_beta4). But because i
was having problems with my internet connection, i phoned to my internet
provider to have assistance with that. They asked me to change some things
in mi computer (such as instaling comunication again from the W98 cd). They
didn't really solved my problem but that's not the point. The problem is
that since i done that, the program ethereal dont captures traffic any more.
When i want to do a traffic capture, it seems to be no traffic althought
there is traffic because i'm connected to the internet. When i stop the
capture i get the message: "no packets captured!
as no data was captured, closing the
temporary capture file!"
So, thats my problem, and i dont know if this problem is caused because of
having changed some things in my computer.
I will be very grateful for whatever you can do for me
