Hi,
it's same on Czech Windows XP - try "About box" where the "Folders" tab
shows directories which contain Czech specific characters - Ethereal shows
same error message.

In "Open Capture File" dialog, your can see Chinese charactors like this:

And when you click on any of the file with Chinese name, a console windows
showing the following error message appears:

** (ethereal.exe:4092): WARNING **: Invalid UTF8 string passed to
pango_layout_set_text()

I'm quite sure that it is because ethereal hadn't convert the file name
string from local code page to UTF8
