Hello,

I work on Red Hat 9 on x86 with the latest rpm of ethereal for RH (ethereal-0.10.3-0.90.1).

According to the man page, there should be ethereal.conf file and preferences files

" The ethereal.conf file, which is installed in the etc directory under
the main installation directory (for example, /usr/local/etc) on UNIX- compatible systems, which is $HOME/.ethereal/preferences on UNIX-compati-
      ble systems ..."

Both are missing ;
I made sure the ethereal.conf is not exisiting by locate ethereal.conf after updatedb.

Any idea ?

(Moreover , I had noticed that the prefernces are not kept in GUI after apply or OK and the next time
you launch ethereal)

regards
Sting
