Well, something else must've gone wrong when you saved the file as text.
The source in our tarballs does *NOT* have lines like that.  I don't
have time to figure out why it didn't work - there are probably several
things that could have gone wrong; the Web pages from which you're
downloading those files are, as far as I know, intended for viewing, not
for compiling (as the header they put in there indicates).

Just discard everything you've done with Ethereal 0.9.7 source so far,
and do *NOT* download individual files from the Web - just download

	http://www.ethereal.com/distribution/ethereal-0.9.7.tar.gz

and unpack it.
