Ethereal 0.9.6 and earlier are gtk1 and glib1 only. They will not work
with gkt2 and glib2. In order to build it, you'll need to install gtk1
and glib1 in addition to the gtk2 and glib2 stuff - they were designed
to be installed at the same time. gtk1/glib1 use the config-glib,
config-gtk stuff (newer versions also include the .pc stuff) while
glib2/gtk2 use .pc stuff exclusively.
That said: Current CVS contains code to support gtk2/glib2 as a configure
option. It's not perfect yet, but already usable.

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
