Please take a look at the license that accompanies Ethereal. You'll notice
that you don't require any permission from the authors (or, to be more
precise: it has already been granted). In case you are asking out of
politeness: Sure, we *want* Ethereal to be useful and used by as many
people as possible and don't mind hearing about its use :)

The current version of Ethereal is 0.9.4 and can be downloaded from
www.ethereal.com in both source form and as precompiled binaries for
quite a lot of OSses.

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
