Hi,
I'm a new Ethereal user, and I have a question
about decoding AOL Instant Messenger messages.
I can send and receive instant messages two ways.
The first is to use the AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) program on a machine that
doesn't have AOL installed. The second is to use the AOL program to send and
receive instant messages.
Ethereal seems to be able to decode messages sent
the first way, but not messages sent via the AOL program.
Messages sent via AIM show up as (in the info
column):
'Message from: ScreenName -> Message
text'
Messages sent via AOL show up as (in the info
column):
'Family: 31075 - Subtype: 4480
(unknown)'
And there are many such families and
subtypes.
Does anyone know what I can do to decode the
unknown messages? Some of them are actual messages, and some are other
stuff.
Regards,
Bill
