Ethereal-users: [Ethereal-users] Error msg in DOS box.
Hello,
I'm running Ethereal as a network monitor on a computer I use to share
cable-modem with the rest of the network. After running for a while a DOS
box opens with the message:
"Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_text_size: gdk_nmbstowchar_ts failed".
This message repeats everytime a new line of text is displayed in Ethereal.
It doesn't seem to interfere with Ethereal's functioning.
I should also note that I change the font to Lucida Console 8pt in order to
display more data on the screen. I'm wondering if this has anything to do
with it.
I'd also like to complain that my current capture and display settings are
lost everytime I exit the program. It would be nice if these settings are
stored (along with the currently selected network device) as a profile name
so I don't have to set everything again. It would also be nice if I could
automatically start Ethereal capturing with command line parameters
executing a desired profile.
It's an excellent network monitoring tool, I've not been able to find
anything else like it on the net. I just let it run constantly on the
connection sharing host and monitor network traffic.
