Hi,

I have installed ethereal-0.8.2 along with glib-1.2.7, gtk+-1.2.7 and
libpcap-0.5.0 on an AIX 4.3.3 system, maintenance level 02. I downloaded
all the freeware files from the bull download website.

I start up ethereal, go to capture -> start ..., enter en0 as the interface
then click OK and then get this popup window:
"The capture session could not be initiated (recv_ack: bind error 0xd).
Please check to make sure you have sufficient permissions, and that you
have the proper interface specified."

I am running as root and strload -q -d dlpi shows dlpi: yes. I have looked
through the archives on ethereal.zing.org and couldn't see any similar
problems. The only difference that I can see is that most entries are on
AIX 4.3.2, and I am on 4.3.3. This shouldn't make any difference, but in
practice I know that sometimes it can. I don't have a 4.3.2 system to test
on right now.

Do you know what might be causing this, and how to fix it?
