Hi,

I'm using ethereal (0.8.0 distribution) on a Red Hat 6.1 system. I'm using
the modified libpcap (4-16).
When I start ethereal and do a start capture without filling something in in
the filter field nothing seems to happen. No packets are captured and all
counters stay zero.
When I then fill in something in the filter field the capture works. 
Is this intentional? I'd expect that when the filter string is empty all
packets would be captured.
